The impulse to respond to the state's defamation of those they murder with appeals to the 'goodness' of the slain is a trap that can only ever serve to aid in the legitimatization of the next murder in which the victim fails to meet an equivalent threshold of moral virtue. Nobody 'deserves' to be executed by the state. Efforts to highlight the 'peacefulness' of some victims becomes ammo in the arsenal against any victim deemed 'violent' and actively aids repression against those taking greater risk to more physically resist the systems that necessitate such violence. It is far more useful, in the fight against these death machines, to undermine the legitimacy the state holds to kill at all. Our words, and the frameworks they craft/ reproduce are weapons, friendly fire cannot be [ S Power to all who fight back.
